Police Update

Below is an update from our local police

Avon and Somerset Constabulary

On Monday 31st January 2011 two youths were witnessed to push a motorbike from an alleyway in the Poolemead Road area of Twerton and attempt to "bump" start it along the road.

A short time later a Burglary was discovered at a nearby set of garages.

Information from local residents was supplied to the Police which resulted in the arrest of two youths, both aged 17 years, from the area.

Sufficient evidence against one of the youths was obtained and he was later charged with the theft of the motorbike.

The following day he appeared before Bath Magistrates Court and was remanded into custody.

The success of this incident was without doubt due to the prompt actions of the members of the public who contacted the Police and gave clear and concise information regarding the burglary and descriptions of the persons involved .

At this time the stolen motorbike a Red Suzuki GSX 750 Index S143UBU has not been recovered and is believed to have been dumped in the local area. If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of this motorbike please contact PC 2844 Spencer on 0845 456 7000.
