It has been of concern for some time now that the entrance and exit from the Lidl site was only an accident waiting to happen, it is with that regard that a meeting was held with senior highway officers a few weeks ago where solutions to the problem was discussed.
At the end of the meeting agreement was reached to have a yellow hatched box put in place on the Lidl side opposite to Jews Lane to help regulate the traffic flows and to allow traffic to safely exit the site.

Hanna Close & Quebec
We have reminded Curo that they agreed nearly a year ago that they would remove the hedge at the part of Quebec that runs through to Twerton High Street. The hedge has become rather scruffy and overgrown over the past few years and is difficult for residents to handle.
At Hanna Close we have asked for the garden area that was cleared up by urban gardeners to be cleared up and the rubbish removed.
It is a shame after all the good work that this area has gone backwards.

LED street light upgrade
Bath & North East Somerset Council are changing all its street lights in Twerton to a new LED system starting the roll out in June by replacing the head section of each lamp post.
The reason for this is the old lighting is expensive to run and some of it is getting to the stage where parts are hard to find and the lighting is almost obsolete.
For more information go to www.bathnes.gov.uk./LED
We will keep you updated on when your street/area is likely to be completed as we hear more.

Safer Roads - Now
Yesterday morning, Sarah Moore and several residents met with Councillor Tim Ball and Councillor Anthony Clarke (BANES Cabinet Member for Transport) to discuss the state of the roads specifically on Kelston View and North Way and request that action is taken to address the extremely poor state of these roads.
They walked around the area showing exactly how bad these road have got and also discussing the issues caused with the increased bus usage late into the night. They pointed out that too many residents are being disturbed by the noise that it is unacceptable to just leave the situation as it is.
Councillor Clarke has agreed to discuss the issues with the Highways Department and come back with options and timescales.
In the meantime, Sarah Moore has launched a petition to ensure this is not just ignored. Please take time to sign on-line here, or if you prefer, a paper copy is available for signature. The petition is to request action is taken on all roads across the South West of Bath, not just the 2 specific one mentioned previously, so it will affect a number of people across the area.

The School Holiday dates for the years 2017 - 2018 have been published for all local authority run schools. Academies Church Schools and Free School can set their own dates but we hope that they will keep in line with the Local authority.

Twerton Roads in a terrible state
The Bath Chronicle have posted an article about a question that I tabled to the council cabinet last night about the state of some of our roads in Twerton.
It is about time the council woke up before a serious accident happens.
