Dominion Road to Freeview Road

We are pleased to hear that Curo are about to clear up the patch of land between Dominion road and Freeview Road that runs via Hanna Close.

This land has for a long time been left in a terrible state and been a beacon for rubbish and fly tipping.

We will continue to work with Curo to ensure that this land remains in a good condition.

Street Lights

We have reported the lamp post number 8 between Dominion Road and Freeview road as not working and in need of repair.

We would hope that this light would be repaired fairly quickly as it sits on a dark lane.

If  you are aware of a street light not working then please contact council connect on 01225 394041 it would be helpful if you also had the lamp post number but not essential to hand when you call.

Twerton Toilets

We had a good meeting this morning with regards to the improvements to the toilets in Twerton.

We  believe that we have found a way forward in having an improved toilet that is more secure and easier to keep clean that the current one as well as being remotely lockable at the end if the days use.

The new toilet if we are successful and we believe that we will be will be a single unisex toilet that is completely disabled friendly.

By doing this the rest of the building would be available for either commercial use or community use and we have found some one who fits both areas.

So it seems that despite all the protests we may have just got the improvements that we wanted and got the bonus of a community type business to use the rest of the building.

We will of course publish more as the details become available.

Dominion Road

We have asked the council to clear the litter up that has accumulated in Dominion Road in the last few weeks.

On a recent visit the area had far too much litter to be acceptable and we have asked for this to be cleared up as soon as possible.

Of course if people would take their rubbish home with them then this would not be a problem.

I have again had to ask the council to clean this
lane and bring it up to standard.

The lane at the moment is in a very poor state and I hope that this lane will be cleaned up as soon as possible.

I have also been chasing the council to ensure that they clear up the decaying leaves that have been falling rapidly across the area.

I have asked for the kerb stones along Dominion Road to be inspected and repaired to a reasonable standard.

The ones pictured are bad and dangerous but these are not the only ones that need repairing as there are many more along this road that are in bad condition.

I would hope that the council would repair these as soon possible.

Its a start by Curo

Curo have made a start at clearing the land near to 1 Dominion Road and although it is not perfect it is much better than it was a few weeks ago. I will chase this matter until the land is either developed or managed in a more suitable way.

The grass areas in Twerton are much better than they were a few weeks ago but there is still more room for improvement with some gardens that were being dealt with by Curo still needing some attention.

Land by 1 Dominion Road

I have made quite a few complaints about this land recently and CURO ( Somer ) have finally come back with a full reply that I am happy to bring to your attention.

For those who don't know this is the land by Hanna Close.

CURO reply below in blue for your attention.

I am very sorry that the land issue at Dominion Road continues to be unresolved. It was intended last year that we would offer the land to tenants whose properties were adjacent and extend their current garden space as we felt this was the most appropriate and straightforward solution.

This did not proceed as we later established that it could provide a much needed space for future development. It should have been cleared and maintained at this point, but we failed to do this.

I am very sorry and have now arranged for the site to be immediately cleaned up to be maintained on an ongoing basis until we decide what to do with this land.
