Possible delays due to road Works

With Scheduled resurfacing works taking place in Haycombe Drive for 3 days later this week there is a potential for delays to the number 5 Bus service running through Twerton.

We would advise residents to ensure that they leave home in plenty of time to reach their destination.

Number 5 Bus ( changes to timetable.

Service 5 (Bath Bus Station – Whiteway):

First bus have told us that to provide a better and more consistent service for customers on Sundays and Public Holidays, the timetable is being changed.

From 2 February buses will run every half an hour throughout the day (currently buses run every 40 minutes in the evening on these days).

In addition the timetable across the rest of the week is also being adjusted to improve the overall punctuality and reliability of the service.

Wessex Connect to withdraw Number 5 Service

Wessex Connect have announced that they are withdrawing their number 5 Bus Service on the Twerton route as from 28th July.

Wessex have been running a service on the Twerton Route for the last few years but this service has slowly run down and is only running every 30 minutes at the moment.

Wessex are not the first company to come and go on the Twerton Route and this latest exit leaves First Bus as the only operator on this route.

We have raised recent concerns about the age of the First Bus fleet and will be following this up to ensure passengers have a reliable on time and comfortable bus service.

Bus Stop Twerton High Street

We have asked the Council to look at putting a new seat in by the Bus Stop at The Parade Twerton High Street.

Many Elderly residents use the bus from this point and a seat would be a great help.
