Public Protection order dogs in cemeteries.

 The council has launched a public consultation on the proposed Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) for council-owned cemeteries in Bath & North East Somerset is now live.

 

As outlined previously, the PSPO has been prepared under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 and seeks to address issues arising from dog-related activities in cemeteries, specifically:

• Dogs not being kept on a lead of 2 metres or less
• Failure to remove dog faeces immediately.

 

The Council considers these measures necessary and proportionate to maintain cemeteries as respectful and safe spaces for all visitors.

The consultation will remain open until the 2^nd of February. Your feedback, along with that of residents and stakeholders, will help shape the final decision.

After receiving complaints from residents I have asked that the dog warden keep an eye on this area in order to stop the person who is letting his dog foul all over the area.

I have also asked that signs are put on lamp posts in the area asking people to clean up after their dogs.

Redland Park (dogs mess)

Is it your dog that has caused this mess on the pavement outside Bond Court.

The residents of this area are getting fed up with the constant mess on the pavements that can be trod in by children.

There are hefty fines for people who do not clear up after their dog so please ensure that if you are walking a dog then please pick it up after they have made a mess, and also please encourage others to do the same.
