Below is an update from our local police
Avon and Somerset Constabulary
On Monday 31st January 2011 two youths were witnessed to push a motorbike from an alleyway in the Poolemead Road area of Twerton and attempt to "bump" start it along the road.
A short time later a Burglary was discovered at a nearby set of garages.
Information from local residents was supplied to the Police which resulted in the arrest of two youths, both aged 17 years, from the area.
Sufficient evidence against one of the youths was obtained and he was later charged with the theft of the motorbike.
The following day he appeared before Bath Magistrates Court and was remanded into custody.
The success of this incident was without doubt due to the prompt actions of the members of the public who contacted the Police and gave clear and concise information regarding the burglary and descriptions of the persons involved .
At this time the stolen motorbike a Red Suzuki GSX 750 Index S143UBU has not been recovered and is believed to have been dumped in the local area. If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of this motorbike please contact PC 2844 Spencer on 0845 456 7000.

Fly tipping rear Redland Park
Who dumped this? We have asked the council to remove the fly tipping to rear of Redland Park. It seems that some people will dump anywhere.
The fly tip includes many toys that a child would have enjoyed, If you saw anyone dump this rubbish then would you please let us know as we are keen to stamp this out.

Poolemead Road Grass verges
We have asked the council to ensure that they take some action to repair the damage that is being caused by cars parking on the grass verge at Poolmead Road.We do not want to stop parking on these verges as this is a Major Bus Route and have previously asked that the verges have grasscrete installed in them.
What we have asked the council to do in the short term is to put some gravel down to protect the surface from being totally worn away.
Windrush Close
Please clean me upWe have asked the council to ensure that all the leaves are removed from the communal footpaths at Windrush Close as soon as possible.
It is now February and the leaves should have been removed by now even given the really bad weather that we were getting just after they all came down in the Autumn.

Vodaphone mast update
The controversial planning application by Vodafone for a new mast at the junction of Poolemead Road and Wedgewood Road has been referred to the planning committee by Councillor Tim Ball.
Tim feels that the application is in the wrong place as it is close to a Nursery and right next door to a residential property.

Connection Hill in a mess again
It seems that hardly a week goes by and we are reporting a mess on Connection Hill in Twerton. This is the worst that we have seen it and we have asked that the council take immediate action to have it cleaned up.
It would of course help if people stopped dropping litter and dumping bags of rubbish here.
