Local Schools get sports cash

Both Twerton Infant's and St Michael's Junior School have benefited for additional government funding for sports activities.

St Michael's Junior get £8,870

Twerton Infants get £8,485

The funding is the equivalent of around two days a week of a primary teacher's time to provide more sport for their pupils. A typical primary school with 250 pupils would receive £9,250 per year.
"This is great news for Bath and North East Somerset's primary schools and builds on the local enthusiasm still running high from last year's Olympics and Paralympics.
"The funding will help schools to develop and embed healthy lifestyle choices for all our young people and to help tackle early health problems such as obesity and diabetes."
