Linley Close - Flytipping

This is a regular occurrence in the garage area behind the Centurian and is totally unacceptable.  Residents are fed up that just a few people still think they can just dump their rubbish and expect it to be taken away for them.

I have asked that this is removed and cleaned up as soon as possible and solutions are sought to prevent this from constantly re-occurring.

Linley Close litter and rubbish update

As many of you will be aware, we have been dealing with the on-going issue of litter and rubbish in Linley Close.

We have been working closely with Curo and BANES to reach a solution to help keep this area clean and are pleased that they have now carried out works to help reduce this issue.

As you will see from these pictures, it is an improvement and hope that all residents will benefit from this.

We will, of course, continue to monitor the area and make sure this solution works for all.

Linley Close Garages

We have asked Curo to ensure that this fly tipped waste is removed form the garage area at Linley Close.

The rubbish is constantly being dumped by the recycling bins causing a problem.

we have also asked that the recycling bins are increased to ensure that there are no bags hanging around that can be scattered all over the area.

Linley Close Garage block

We have asked Curo to remove the fly tipping form this block of garages that has been dumped there.

It looks like some of this is from insulation materials that could have been used by their own contractors.

We hope that this will be removed in the very near future.

Linley Close Twerton

We spent some time talking with residents on Thursday in Linley Close and were pleased with the communication that took place.

Issues that we are following up on are:

1) Fire Doors in the flats do not seem to seal at the bottoms.

2) Garage Car park is full of litter and rubbish we will get this cleared up.

3) Footpath behind 1/8 residents are asking that this path is blocked to prevent access.

Linley close garages update

Curo have come back very quickly telling us that they will clear the garage area and the road leading to the garages shortly.

We would like to thank Curo for  their prompt action but would still question how these garages were allowed to get so bad in the first place.

Linley Close Garages

We have asked Curo to clear this area up as soon as possible. As you can clearly see the area falls below even the minimum standards that you would expect and area to be in.

We have asked Curo to keep this area tidy before and are disapointed that this has not been kept uo together.

We area also disappointed that the recycling area has still not been sorted despite promises over six months ago.

Linley Close

We have asked Curo to ensure that the Fridge and gas bottles to are removed from the Linley Close garage area as soon as possible.

We have also asked that the drain is cleared at the turning area at Linley Close as it is not draining away.

We would hope that these matters would soon be sorted out.

Linley Close and garages

Councillor Gerry Curran spent a good two hours clearing litter for the park area behind the Centurion public house and the garage area behind at Linley close.

In all Gerry removed several large bags of rubbish from the area.

We have also asked Curo to remove the old Fridges and gas bottles that have been dumped in the garages.

Linley Close

Curo are going to undertake remedial works to all the fire doors in all 3 blocks of flats in Linley Close.

This is in line with a requirement of Bath & North East Somerset Council to bring them into line with the latest safety standards.

In order to carry out the works Curo will be placing 3 units storage and waste in the car park at Linley Close garrage block while the works are being carried out.

Friday, 19 July 2013

We had a good clear up in Redland Park and Linley Close Garages yesterday 18th,

In Redland Park there are still many areas that need attention and we will return to these over the coming weeks.

In addition to this we are planning a good community Clear up of Redland Park followed buy a fun day sponsored by Curo later in the day we will post more details later.

Councillor Gerry Curran (pictured opposite) & Councillor Tim Ball carry out litter picks on a regular basis and if you want to join us just let us know and we will tell you where we are going.
At Linley Close Garages we removed all of the litter that had been accumulating for quite a few months an also cleared the park area down to Shaws Way.

We hope that when we get the new recycling Centre relocated that a lot of this mess will stop happening.

We will also be approaching the local public house as many of their glasses were found in the car park area.
It is important that we all do our bit to help keep the community clean including the public houses in the area.

Recycling and waste containment

We have met with Curo and council waste officers at both Linley Close where the bins were recently burnt out and at Walwyn Close that always seems to be in a mess.

At the Linley Close area we have agreed that the Green waste bins should be replaced as soon as possible whilst we investigate another storage area for recycled waste.

At Walwyn Close we have asked for improved signage about what can be left in this area and have asked for some secure fencing around the green plastic waste bins in order to stop, any recycled waste blowing across the area.

Linley Close garages update

I am pleased that Curo have indicated that they will have the Linley Close garages cleaned up within two working days and that they will be actively investigated the fencing in of the recycling area.

I now await to see the action promised.

Linley Close Garages

I have written to Curo asking them to clear up the mess that has been created at the garage area at Linley Close.

I have also asked that the burnt out recycling bins that have been left for over a week now are removed and that this area has the fencing around it that we agreed some time ago put urgently in place.

It is important that this area is secured before the bins are returned.
