Following our recent notices to confirm roads in Twerton will be closed for essential resurfacing work, we now have confirmation that the Bus service during this time will be badly affected.
We appreciate this is frustrating for a number of residents, but it is hoped that the road repairs will improve the travel through these areas.

Service 20 on Tuesday 28th & Wednesday 29th May (09:00-16:00 each day)
Between University of Bath and Lymore Avenue (near Oldfield Park) the bus will continue to serve the normal route in both directions. However the bus will then not serve Shophouse Road, Twerton High Street, Watery Lane or Poolemead Road in either direction. Instead, the bus will divert via The Hollow, Kelston View and Wedgwood Road to get to/from the start/end point at the junction of Poolemead Road and Wedgwood Road.
Service U2 on Tuesday 28th & Wednesday 29th May (09:00-16:00 each day)
Between University of Bath and Lymore Avenue (near Oldfield Park) the bus will continue to serve the normal route. However the bus will then not serve Shophouse Road, Twerton High Street, Watery Lane or Poolemead Road. Instead, the bus will divert via The Hollow, Kelston View and Wedgwood Road to get to the triangle at the junction of Poolemead Road and Wedgwood Road. It will then loop around the trees and resume its usual route back to the University via Whiteway, Mount Road, Rush Hill and on through Odd Down.
Service 5 on Tuesday 28th & Wednesday 29th May (09:00-16:00 each day)
Between Bath Bus Station and McDonald’s (Twerton Bridge) on Lower Bristol Road the bus will continue to serve the normal route in both directions. However the bus will not serve Twerton High Street, nor the normal stops on Newton Road, in either direction. Instead, the bus will continue along Lower Bristol Road to The Globe Roundabout and then along Pennyquick to rejoin its normal route up to Haycombe Cemetery. The bus will continue on its normal route through Whiteway, down Poolemead Road and left along Shaw’s Way. After Shaw’s Way the bus will turn left onto Newton Road and right onto Pennyquick to get to The Globe Roundabout, before travelling via the A4 and Lower Bristol Road to rejoin its usual route at McDonald’s (Twerton Bridge).
Service 5 on Thursday 30th & Friday 31st May (09:00-16:00 each day)
The majority of Service 5’s route will be as per usual, but there will be some diversions, meaning Walwyn Close, Twerton School and Redland Park stops will not be served in either direction. On the way to Whiteway, after Twerton High Street the bus will turn left and divert along Watery Lane and Shaw’s Way before rejoining the normal route at the far end of Newton Road, missing out the stops listed above. After continuing with its normal route through Whiteway, the bus will travel down Poolemead Road but instead of turning left onto Shaw’s Way will turn right onto Watery Lane, missing out the stops on Shaw’s Way and the stops on Newton Road listed above. After Watery Lane the bus will rejoin its normal route at Twerton High Street and continue on to Bath Bus Station.
