Bath City Farm Litter Pick

Bath City farm have set the date for their annual litter pick and the date that they have set is Saturday 14th February.

To take place it makes no difference who you are just turn up and lend a hand and you will be most welcome.

The community of Twerton welcomes all people who can help keep the farm clear of litter and the surrounding roads and hedgerows that all need a good clean up giving a much better feel to the area.

So even if you are not able to manage the fields there will always be something that you can do to help out.

It is wise however that you wear good boots and sturdy Gloves although litter pickers are normally available but bring your own as well if you have them.

You don't even have to book just turn up at the farm at 10.30 pm on 14th February and stay as long as you can up till 3pm.

Community Infrastructure in Twerton

I had a good meeting with Curo this morning where we were able to discuss some of the issues that area affecting Twerton.

The matter of the community infrastructure and the well being of the communities of Twerton were a major issues and how they are going to be tackled.

As we all know very well if people are happy in a good clean well maintained area then they will look after the area much better.

The subject of many crumbling walls was raised an it was pointed out that many of these belong to Curo and needed to be repaired before any collapsed.

To be fair to Curo they have recognised that we have a problem that needs to be addressed and we will be working with them to get these sorted as soon as possible.

Highland Road

It was good to be out talking with residents in High Street and Highland Road this morning and to hear about a few local issues.

The matter of the most concern was the litter that was in Highland Road and we have reported this to the council and have asked that they get this cleared up as soon as possible.

It seems that we have a constant problem with litter in this area and we would like to know if residents would be happy if we put in litter bins.

It is not acceptable for this area to be in this constant mess and we will continue to try and get this area sorted out.

Poolemead Road

It was good to be out with residents of Poolemead Road on Thursday talking with them about local issues.

The reception from residents was very good many if them commenting that they were pleased that we  had resolved the parking issues at two places.

1) Having grass Crete installed.
2) Removing parking restrictions.

The other issues that we picked up on we're problems with disabled residents getting access to their homes by crossing grass areas and some residents parking over footpath access from the road.

Redland Park vandalism & litter

We have complained to the council about the amount of rubbish left in Redland Park after waste collection day on Tuesday and have asked that the mess is cleaned up as soon as possible.

We have also drawn to the attention of Curo that two of the litter bins that were only recently installed in Redland park have been tipped over in a mindless episode of vandalism. Curo have already arrange a job order to sent the contractor back to site to reinstate the buns.
