Bath & North East Somerset Council have taken a huge step in securing the Future of Culverhay School by revoking the Closure notice that was moved by the previous Conservative administration.
The revocation motion was moved by Liberal Democrat Cabinet member for Children's Services Nathan Hartley, and was carried by seven votes to nil at the Council Cabinet meeting on 13th October 2011.
It was interesting to hear from the Conservative opposition group that seem to have done a complete U Turn and are now supporting the retention of Culverhay School as an Academy ( It is a shame that they put the area through so much pain and wasted so much public money first).
We now await the Confirmation from the Government that Culverhay will be granted Academy Status.
We understand that the Cabot Academy Which is the Schools preferred option to run the School plans an intake of Girls as early as September 2012 subject to the Academy being approved.

Twerton infants new frontage open
We were both pleased to be able to attend the opening of the new frontage of Twerton infant school.
The new mosaics made by the Children that Welcome people to the School took months to make and are a credit to the Children and the Staff.
The new frontage makes the School a welcoming place for visitors children and parents alike.
Well done to all at the School this is fantastic.
