The council has launched a public consultation on the proposed Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) for council-owned cemeteries in Bath & North East Somerset is now live.
As outlined previously, the PSPO has been prepared under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 and seeks to address issues arising from dog-related activities in cemeteries, specifically:
- Dogs not being kept on a lead of 2 metres or less
- Failure to remove dog faeces immediately.
The Council considers these measures necessary and proportionate to maintain cemeteries as respectful and safe spaces for all visitors.
