Morrisions Twerton will close on Monday and reopen as a MyLocal store.
The Twerton Morriosns is one of the 100 or so stores that is being transferred to a new company after Morrisions decided to reduce the amount of stores that it holds in the convenience store sector.
We would hope that the New store would keep to the price promises made by Morrisons to Twerton residents.

Morrisons Local
The long awaited opening of Morrsions on Twerton High Street will take place on Monday 30th September at 9am.
I have today met Chris the local store manager who tells me that there will be an official opening of the store on Monday of next week.
Chris also told me that the prices in the store will be competitive and that should help many of our local families who are struggling financially.

Morrisons on its way
The development of a new Morrison's Store in Twerton is well underway and we have received confirmation that the opening of the store will be in the very near future.
The works shown ensure that the store is fully disability accessible and will also have a new cash point that will benefit local residents.
We will keep residents informed of the full opening date as soon as it is available.

Blockbusters Closing Wednesday
It is common knowledge that Blockbusters is closing in Twerton after the National chain went into liquidation I have been told today that they are closing on Wednesday next week.
We all expected that the Twerton Blockbusters Store would remain open as it was a profitable part of the business.
I now understand that the rumours about Morrison's taking on the store are correct and that they have bought the building and not just bought out the lease that Blockbusters had with the building owner.
I have no official confirmation of the issue of Morrison's opening a local store in Twerton but have no reason not to believe this not to be correct.
I would hope that the current staff in the Blockbusters store would be able to gain employment with the new owners.
If Morrison's take on this store as local shop it turns back the clock nearly 30 years when retail last used the building and the Co op ceased trading in the High street before returning 5 years ago further down the High Street as Southern Co op.
