Free cycle stands for community groups

Life Cycle UK is continuing to offer free cycle parking under our ever popular ‘Take a Stand’ scheme. Which we run in partnership with Bath and North East Somerset Council. Under the scheme, They offer free cycle stands to community groups, small business, places of worship etc.

The groups must have their own premises, but if they do they can apply for the stands through the ‘Take a Stand Scheme’ http://www.lifecycleuk.org.uk/cycle-parking

If you want to apply you need to either pay for or arrange installation of the stands yourselves – and it must be on your own land – but other than that there are no costs.

There are still a small number of stands available under the scheme for this financial year.

Connection Hill in a mess again

Please keep this area clear

We have again asked for the fly tipping to be cleared up on connection Hill. It seems that this is one area that we are having to have cleared on a regular basis.

We have also asked the council to take action to remove the trees and bushes that are growing over the path from 67 High Street.

Disappointment for Redland Park Residents

Residents of Redland Park will be disappointed to hear that Bath & North East Somerset Council Highways department have decided not to create an extra parking area on the former play area in the middle of Redland Park.

Councillor Tim Ball has spoken to several residents who agree that the the second placed scheme the wild flowers surrounded by a fence should now be put in place.

We have notified the parks department asking them to carry out this work.

Recycling Collections

Bath & North East Somerset Council say it will take until the end of this week to clear a backlog of recycling waste put out for collection.

Bath and North East Somerset Council are working hard to catch up with missed recycling collections and crews are working until 6.30pm each evening.

General waste collections should now be back to normal but: “Recycling collections are running behind due to the volume of recycling being put out.

“Residents are advised to leave their recycling out until it is collected. The Council expect to have everything cleared by close of play on Saturday.”
