Over the Royal Wedding Bank Holiday weekend, Bath & North East Somerset Council’s museums are hosting a number of fun activities everyone.
The Roman Baths is hosting a ‘Love your museum weekend’ as part of its campaign to gain the 2011 Art Fund Prize, the most prestigious award in the museum world. The Roman Baths are already on the long list which was announced in February.
The purpose of The Art Fund Prize is to recognise and stimulate originality and excellence in museums and galleries in the UK, and increase public appreciation and enjoyment of all they have to offer. A single award of £100,000 is presented to a museum or gallery whose entry, in the opinion of the judges, best meets the Prize criteria. For this special weekend activities include the chance to find out if you are Roman Citizen or a Barbarian. Create a laurel wreath, meet Roman characters at the Roman Baths and also make a majestic picture frame at the Fashion Museum.

Fashion Museum – Regally framed, family drop-in. Sunday 1 and Monday 2 May: 10.30-12.30 & 1.30-3.30
A special display to celebrate the Royal wedding showcases some of the finest wedding dresses from the Fashion Museum collection. Our family drop-in activity is to create a majestic and regal picture frame inspired by the Royal Wedding celebrations and our special exhibition.
