Twerton Ward Councillors Surgery returns this Saturday at Rose Cottage Twerton High Street from 10am till 12 noon.

No appointment is required just turn up and let us know what is troubling you.

Rose cottage, elected Mayor etc.

Councillor Tim Ball spent several hours at Rose cottage today talking with local residents talking about issues that affect them.

Rose cottage is a very good community cafe that is open on a Wednesday and Thursday from 9 am till 2pm. They offer a special lunch with a drink for £4 or under with Kids meals even cheaper so well worth a visit.

Some of the issues that were discussed today were about the planning application for a single bed roomed dwelling in pace of the old public toilet block that local residents say they want but planners seem to have a different opinion of.

The other planning matter for discussion was the land at Bath City Farm that has a planning application for housing that no one thought was a good idea.

The issue of the travellers site on the Lower Bristol Road came up and several questions were asked and when the answers were given that rent was being paid by occupants, most residents agreed that it was a good idea.

The final subject was about a directly elected Mayor for Bath & North East Somerset that everyone said was a total waste of money and would lessen democracy rather than increase it.

It is nice to be able to engage with residents in a friendly community cafe that truly represents the local community.

It has also been good to be able to help several residents with issues and concerns that they have.

Community engagement

As part of our community engagement we are again calling on residents on a Friday morning and will continue to call on residents until we have been to every street in Twerton.

So far since May we have called on about 1,000 doors in Twerton and have spoken with hundreds of people.

From this week in an extension to community engagement Councillor Tim Ball will be attending one of the three community venues in the ward where residents gather for tea and a chat.

Tim will be available to talk with anyone who has an issue or wants to raise a concern / problem that needs to be resolved.

This week Tim will be popping into Rose Cottage in Twerton High Street between 11am and 12 noon on Thursday 24th for a cup of tea and a chat.

Kids activities

Every Friday until the Kids go back to School is a drop in at Rose Cottage from 10am till 2pm.

There is still time today to come on down with your kids if you live in Twerton.

There is one condition however and that is you must stay with your children to ensure their behaviour as they are not being supervised except for by you.
